How
To Apply To JPSM As A Non-Degree Student
1. First obtain the
university's Graduate Application.
Instructions on how to apply are located at the University of Maryland Graduate
School web site at
http://www.gradschool.umd.edu. You must fill out the application on-line. Do
not send: letters of recommendation, statement of goals, or GRE test scores -
these are not necessary for non-degree seeking students.
2. If you are a Maryland resident, you also need to fill out the Maryland
In-State Status form, this form is included on the on-line application. If you
are not a Maryland resident, but are an employee of one of JPSM's sponsoring
Federal Agencies you need to email jpsm@survey.umd.edu and indicate your agency
so your tuition can be changed to the in-state rate. Or you can call
301-314-7911. This can only be done once you have been accepted to the
university and have registered for the course.
3. Fax copies of your college transcripts to the Graduate School @ 301-314-9305.
Request official transcripts from all institutions that you have attended. The
Graduate School will allow you to register for one semester with copies of
transcripts. Once they receive official copies you can take classes for five
years without reapplying.
4. Pay the application fee of $60. The Graduate School will not process your
application without the application fee. You can pay via check, credit card, or
have the application fee included on your form 182 (training order).
How To Register For Classes
Once you have been admitted, you can register for class. You can check your
application status
https://www.sis.umd.edu/gradapp/; or wait for a letter from the Graduate
School. You can register for class via the internet,
http://www.testudo.umd.edu/Registrar.html, phone, fax or mail. If you are
using the fax or mail, you will need to use the Graduate Student Schedule
Request form.
If you have any additional questions, please call 301-314-7911 or send email to
